Dr. Mayank Sharma Appointed Financial Advisor (Defence Services)

Dr. Mayank Sharma assumed charge as the Financial Advisor (Defence Services) on August 1, 2025. He is an officer of the 1989 batch of the Indian Defence Accounts Service (IDAS) and has served the Government of India in various capacities for over three decades, including as Controller General of Defence Accounts.

Dr. Sharma has also served in the Cabinet Secretariat as Under Secretary, Deputy Secretary, and Joint Secretary. Additionally, he has represented India as the Alternate Permanent Representative at various international platforms such as the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, the UN Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice, and the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law.
