Dindori Ranks First, Khandwa Second in India’s Water Conservation Campaign

Madhya Pradesh has achieved a significant milestone in the field of water conservation, strengthening its position across the country. In the latest rankings of the “Jal Sanchay Jan Bhagidari Abhiyan” by the Central Government, two districts of the state — Dindori and Khandwa — have secured the top positions.

According to the ranking released by the Ministry of Jal Shakti on April 22, Dindori has secured the first position in the country, while Khandwa has achieved the second position. These rankings are based on the work carried out under the water conservation campaign.

This achievement comes at a time when water scarcity is becoming a serious challenge across the country. Under the leadership of the state government, the “Jal Ganga Conservation Campaign” is being actively implemented to conserve rainwater and revive traditional water sources.

A key factor behind this success has been the active participation of local communities, along with strong administrative efforts. Together, they have contributed to large-scale water conservation work across the state.

The performance of Dindori and Khandwa demonstrates that collaborative efforts between government and citizens can deliver impactful results in addressing major environmental challenges like water conservation.
