Dhoni Joins ICC Hall of Fame: 11th Indian to Achieve this Feat; Says it's a Proud Moment

Dhoni is the only Indian captain to have won all three ICC trophies – the 2007 T20 World Cup, the 2011 ODI World Cup, and the 2013 Champions Trophy. Former Indian cricket team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been inducted into the International Cricket Council (ICC) Hall of Fame. This announcement was made by the ICC on Monday. Dhoni has become the 11th Indian player to receive this honor.

The ICC stated about Dhoni's career, "17,266 international runs, 829 dismissals, and 538 matches... these figures not only reflect his talent but also his consistency, fitness, and long career."

In response to the honor, Dhoni said, "Being inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame is a huge honor. Seeing my name among the list of cricket legends from around the world is a proud moment for me. I will cherish this moment forever."

In the ICC Hall of Fame 2025 list, seven players were included, five men and two women. The male players include South Africa's Hashim Amla, India's Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Australia's Matthew Hayden, South Africa's Graeme Smith, and New Zealand's Daniel Vettori. The female cricketers who received this honor are Pakistan's Sana Mir and England's Sarah Taylor.
