Delhi Employees Directed to Work from Home Due to Rising Pollution
In view of rising pollution levels in Delhi-NCR, the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) has tightened the GRAP (Graded Response Action Plan). Several measures will now be implemented earlier to prevent worsening air quality.
On 22nd November, the average AQI in Delhi-NCR was 360, which falls under the “very poor” category. CAQM stated that the new measures are based on scientific data, expert opinions, and past experiences. All agencies have been instructed to implement them immediately.
Under the new directives:
- Rules previously applicable at GRAP-2 will now be enforced at GRAP-1.
- Many GRAP-3 rules will now apply at GRAP-2, and GRAP-4 rules will apply at GRAP-3.
- GRAP-4 includes the provision for 50% of employees to work from home.
