In the WPL 2026 auction held in New Delhi, five franchises bid for a total of 67 players. India's most experienced all-rounder Deepti Sharma was bought by UP Warriors for 3.2 crore INR, making her the second most expensive Indian player in WPL history. In this mega auction, a total of 11 players became croreplatians.
The record for the most expensive Indian player is held by Smriti Mandhana, who was bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in 2023 for 3.40 crore INR. Deepti Sharma's base price was 50 lakh INR, and Delhi Capitals made the first bid for her. However, UP Warriors used the Right to Match (RTM) card to acquire her.
