41-year-old Cuban wrestler Mijan Lopez Nunez created history by winning his fifth consecutive gold medal. The Cuban wrestler won the gold medal by defeating Chile's Yasma Nee Acosta Fernandez 6-0 in the final of the 130 kg category of the Greco-Roman competition at the Paris Olympics 2024. Nunez became the first Olympic athlete to win five consecutive gold medals in the same event. He is the first wrestler to win five gold medals in the 130 kg category Greco-Roman competition. Nunez announced his retirement by giving a hint after winning the final.
