राष्ट्रपति द्रौपदी मुर्मु ने 25 दिसंबर को तीन नए आपराधिक न्याय विधेयकों को मंजूरी दे दी, जिन्हें पिछले सप्ताह संसद ने पारित किया था। तीन नए कानून-भारतीय न्याय संहिता, भारतीय नागरिक सुरक्षा संहिता और भारतीय साक्ष्य अधिनियम अंग्रेजों के जमाने की भारतीय दंड संहिता, दंड प्रक्रिया संहिता और 1872 के भारतीय साक्ष्य अधिनियम की जगह लेंगे। गृह मंत्रालय इसको लेकर जल्द अधिसूचना जारी कर सकता है।

President Draupadi Murmu on December 25 assent to three new criminal justice bills were passed by Parliament last week. The three new laws – the Indian Judicial Code, the Indian Civil Defense Code and the Indian Evidence Act – will replace the British-era Indian Penal Code, Code of Criminal Procedure and the Indian Evidence Act of 1872. The Home Ministry may issue a notification regarding this soon.
