According to the EIU’s Global Livability Index, a remarkable shift in the global urban landscape has taken place, with Copenhagen declared the most livable city in 2025. With an exceptional overall score of 98.0, the Danish capital surpassed Vienna, which had held the top position for three consecutive years.
The EIU’s annual report evaluates 173 cities based on five key dimensions: stability, healthcare, culture and environment, education, and infrastructure. Copenhagen led the way by scoring a perfect 100 in sustainability, education, and infrastructure — a rare trifecta that clearly set it apart this year.
