खाद-बीज बेचने, गेहूं-धान का उपार्जन और उचित मूल्य की दुकान चलाने के बाद अब मध्य प्रदेश की सहकारी समितियां ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों में सस्ती दर पर दवा उपलब्ध कराने का काम भी करेंगी। 31 दिसंबर को मिली जानकारी के अनुसार इसके लिए जन औषधि केंद्रों का संचालन समितियों द्वारा किया जाएगा। अब तक 263 समितियां आवेदन कर चुकी हैं और 195 को केंद्र से स्वीकृति भी मिल गई है।

12 समितियों को ड्रग लाइसेंस भी मिल गया है। प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी की आमजन को सस्ती दर पर दवा उपलब्ध कराने की मंशा के अनुरूप मध्य प्रदेश में अभी 302 जन औषधि केंद्र संचालित हैं। प्रदेश में इनका विस्तार किया जा रहा है। इसकी जिम्मेदारी सहकारिता विभाग को दी गई है। विभाग ने प्राथमिक कृषि साख सहकारी समितियों के माध्यम से ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों में सस्ती दर पर दवाएं उपलब्ध कराने का काम अपने हाथ में लिया है। इसके लिए 263 सहकारी समितियां अब तक आगे आई हैं और उन्होंने केंद्र सरकार को जन औषधि केंद्र के संचालन के लिए आवेदन किए हैं।
