Commercial Aircraft to Be Manufactured in India

Jeet Adani, Director of Adani Defence and Aerospace, announced that a regional aircraft manufacturing unit will be set up in India in collaboration with Brazil’s renowned aircraft manufacturer Embraer. Under this initiative, the final assembly of aircraft will take place within India.

In a major development for the aviation sector, the Adani Group and Embraer have entered into a strategic partnership. This collaboration marks a significant step toward transforming India from merely an aircraft-importing nation into an aircraft-manufacturing country.

The partnership was officially announced on 27 January during an event held at the Ministry of Civil Aviation in New Delhi. Senior officials from the government and both companies were present at the announcement.

Samir Kumar Sinha, Secretary of Civil Aviation, stated that the partnership goes beyond assembling aircraft. It will facilitate the introduction of advanced technologies, provide new skill development opportunities, and help build a robust supply chain ecosystem in India.

The overarching goal of the collaboration is to establish India as a regional aircraft manufacturing hub. Jeet Adani emphasized that the joint effort with Embraer will enable the creation of a dedicated regional aircraft manufacturing facility, with aircraft final assembly being carried out domestically.
