Colleges are required to upload data on ABC portal, will not be able to do so after the deadline

On November 28, the University Grants Commission has now taken a tough stand regarding the Academic Bank of Credits (ABC). Under this, all the concerned academic institutions have been warned to upload the credits of the students on the ABC portal on time. After the deadline is over, they will not be able to upload the credits of the students in the ABC eco-system. Its last date is till December 31. Under this, this deadline for the academic year 2021, 2022 and 2023 underlines the priority for higher education institutions to upload credit data. The concerned colleges and universities have been asked to upload credit information immediately after the evaluation is completed and the results are declared. It is mandatory for all higher education institutions to open ABC accounts of all their students and upload data in it. Under the new provisions of Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) in the National Education Policy, in case of transfer to another institute or enrollment in another institute after one institute, the data in ABC remains safe and can be accessed from anywhere. Along with this, UGC has clarified that the data from the year 2021 to 2023 will have to be uploaded by December 31. After this, it will be mandatory to upload the data of 2024 by June 2025. For this, higher educational institutions will have to check their status to know what is their current status. ABC is a digital platform launched by UGC to store and recognize the educational credits of the students. Through this, the credits of various courses and degrees done by the students are stored digitally. So that they can present proof of their educational qualifications anywhere.
