To make the state poverty-free by 2028, the Mohan government will implement the Poverty Alleviation Mission. This mission will focus on increasing income, along with coordinated efforts in sectors such as healthcare, education, housing, sanitation, and drinking water.
The presentation of the framework for the mission took place during the Cabinet meeting on January 15, chaired by Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, and its implementation was approved. The mission will be implemented with a focus on the four groups identified by Prime Minister Narendra Modi (youth, women, the poor, and farmers).
Main Schemes:
The Poverty Alleviation Mission will focus on improving the nutrition of women and children, reducing infant mortality, ensuring the health of pregnant women, and providing education and healthcare services to every individual. Additionally, there will be efforts to provide housing and sanitation services to the people.
Solar Panel Initiative:
The government buildings will now have solar panels installed under the PM Surya Ghar free electricity scheme. This work will be carried out in mission mode starting this year.
Dial 100 Service Phase II:
The Cabinet meeting approved the detailed project report (DPR) for the second phase of the Dial 100 service, which will run from April 2025 to September 2030. A total of 1,200 First Response Vehicles (FRVs) will be deployed, with an estimated budget of ₹1,565 crores for the project.
Fisheries and Police Band Initiative:
The government will promote fisheries to increase the income of farmers, and the Chief Minister’s Fish Prosperity Scheme will continue until 2025-26, with ₹100 crores allocated. Additionally, 932 new positions will be approved for the establishment of police bands in districts.
Chief Minister’s Upcoming Travels and Next Meeting:
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will be on a visit to Japan from January 27 to February 1. A Cabinet meeting will be held on January 24 in Maheshwar before his trip.
