The Border Security Force (BSF) Air Wing has appointed its first-ever woman flight engineer, Inspector Bhawna Chaudhary, marking a historic moment in its aviation history.
She was appointed after completing internal training. BSF Director General Daljit Singh Chaudhary awarded her and four other officers their flying badges in a recent ceremony.
The BSF has been operating its aviation unit under the Ministry of Home Affairs since 1969. During the two-month training program, five officers underwent 130 hours of training.
