Botswana to Send Eight Cheetahs to India

President of Botswana, Duma Boko, praised the Supreme Court of India, Indian teachers, and Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore. Referring to Supreme Court decisions and the landmark 1985 judgment, he stated that Indian jurisprudence serves as a guide for Botswana.

During a meeting with President Droupadi Murmu, both leaders announced the relocation of eight cheetahs to India, along with health cooperation and several bilateral initiatives. On November 12, President Boko appreciated the Indian Supreme Court, which has inspired Botswana's legal system.

Welcoming President Murmu’s official visit to the African nation, Boko acknowledged the contributions of Indian teachers in mathematics and science and praised Rabindranath Tagore’s literary genius.

Formerly a lawyer, Boko assumed the presidency in November last year. In a high-level meeting with Murmu, he later expressed admiration for India’s top court during his speech and joint press conference. Both leaders announced a collaborative project to relocate eight cheetahs to India along with several other bilateral cooperation initiatives.
