Bihar Gets a New Leader After 20 Years
A major political shift took place in Bihar on April 15, when Samrat Choudhary took oath as the new Chief Minister of the state.
He was sworn in by Governor Ata Hasanain during a ceremony held at Lok Bhavan.
In the same ceremony, Bijendra Prasad Yadav and Vijay Kumar Choudhary took oath as Deputy Chief Ministers.
This transition is being seen as the beginning of a new political era in Bihar, following nearly two decades of leadership under Nitish Kumar.
Several prominent leaders attended the swearing-in ceremony, including Nitish Kumar, BJP national president Nitin Naveen, Union Minister J.P. Nadda, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, and B.L. Santosh.
With this new power structure, the political balance in Bihar appears to be shifting. Notably, this marks the first time the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has secured the Chief Minister’s position in the state.
