Starting from January 24, 2025, a new biometric attendance system will be implemented for 1,700 officers and employees working in the state secretariat. As per the directions of the General Administration Department, all employees will be required to create an Aadhaar-based face attendance ID by this date.

Under the new system, employees will have to undergo face and retina scan verification at the time of entry and exit from the secretariat. This modern system, using artificial intelligence, will also recognize changes in the face over time, including aging.

Currently, manual attendance and malfunctioning thumb machines are being used in the secretariat, making it difficult to track the actual attendance of employees. The new system will help ensure timely attendance of employees and enhance the security of the secretariat.

A special team from the e-Mission department will assist employees in creating their IDs. This move will promote a digital work culture, complementing the already implemented e-file system in the secretariat.
