Tarique Rahman to Take Oath as Prime Minister of Bangladesh
Following his party BNP's impressive victory in the general elections of Bangladesh, Tarique Rahman is set to be sworn in as the next Prime Minister of the country. According to Indian Standard Time, the oath-taking ceremony will be held at 4:30 PM IST.
His cabinet will consist of 25 ministers, including 2 from minority communities, along with 24 state ministers. Tarique Rahman and his cabinet will take the oath at the South Plaza of the Bangladesh Parliament complex.
All Members of Parliament who won in the 13th general elections took their oaths at 10:00 AM in the Parliament House oath chamber, and Tarique Rahman also took his oath as an MP.
India's representation: Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla will represent India at the Bangladesh government’s oath-taking ceremony and has arrived in Dhaka for the event. Bangladesh Foreign Ministry Secretary (Bilateral) Dr. Mohammad Nazrul Islam and Bangladesh High Commissioner to India Riaz Hamidullah welcomed him at Dhaka Airport.
