नया साल बुरहानपुर जिले के लिए नई उपलब्धि लेकर आया है। बुरहानपुर को एक जिला एक उत्पाद योजना में बेहतर काम करने के लिए केंद्र सरकार ने स्पेशल मेंशन अवार्ड से सम्मानित किया है। 3 जनवरी को नई दिल्ली में आयोजित कार्यक्रम में केंद्रीय वाणिज्य एवं उद्योग मंत्री पीयूष गोयल, विदेश मंत्री एस. जयशंकर ने कलेक्टर भव्या मित्तल को यह पुरस्कार देकर सम्मानित किया। ज्ञात हो कि एक जिला एक उत्पाद के तहत बुरहानपुर जिले की मुख्य फसल केले को चयनित किया गया है। केले का उतपाद, व्यापार और प्रसंस्करण बढ़ा कर जिला आत्म निर्भर भारत की अवधारणा को साकार कर रहा है।

जिले में केले से चिप्स के अलावा केला पाउडर, राखी, साज सज्जा की वस्तुएं, घरेलू सामान, चटाई, पर्स, टोकरियां, पायदान आदि बनाए जा रहे हैं। जिले की महिलाओं को केले के तने से रेशे निकालने और उनसे सामग्री बनाने का प्रशिक्षण भी दिया जा रहा है। जिससे महिलाएं आर्थिक रूप से सशक्त हो रही हैं।

The new year has brought new achievements for Burhanpur district. Burhanpur has been honored with the Special Mention Award by the Central Government for its better work in One District One Product Scheme. In the program organized in New Delhi on January 3, Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar honored Collector Bhavya Mittal by giving him this award. It may be noted that banana, the main crop of Burhanpur district, has been selected under One District One Product. By increasing banana production, trade and processing, the district is realizing the concept of self-reliant India. Apart from chips, banana powder, Rakhi, decorative items, household items, mats, purses, baskets, doormats etc. are being made from bananas in the district. The women of the district are also being given training in extracting fibers from banana stems and making materials from them. Due to which women are becoming economically empowered.
