On the fifth day of the Boxing Day Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), Jasprit Bumrah bowled Nathan Lyon out, dismissing Australia’s second innings for 234 runs. India was set a target of 340 runs, which seemed difficult for the current Indian team, but they should have at least managed a draw.

   

India’s Struggles

   

Despite this, Indian batsmen once again surrendered easily to Australia. After scoring 369 runs in the first innings, the Indian team was bowled out for just 155 runs in the second innings in 79.1 overs. Had they batted for another 12.5 overs, the series could have been tied at 1-1. Instead, Australia now leads 2-1 in the series.
