Ashim Ghosh Appointed as the New Governor of Haryana
On July 14, Ashim Ghosh took the oath as the 19th Governor of Haryana. The oath was administered by Sheel Nagu, the Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, at the Raj Bhavan in Chandigarh. Ghosh read his oath of office in English during the ceremony. The event was attended by Haryana’s Chief Minister Nayab Saini, Punjab Governor and Chandigarh Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria, and other dignitaries.
Ashim Ghosh was appointed as the Governor of Haryana in place of Bandaru Dattatreya. The President of India, Droupadi Murmu, announced his appointment on July 14, 2025. Ghosh had previously served as the President of the BJP in West Bengal.
