Date: June 10, 2025
The cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav was held on June 10 at the Secretariat. The cabinet gave theoretical approval of ₹21,630 crore under the Chief Minister Majra-Tola Road Scheme to provide all-weather connectivity to remote settlements such as Majra, Tola, Dhoni, Pura, etc. The implementation of the scheme will be done in two phases. The first phase will be from the financial year 2025-26 to 2029-30, and the second phase from 2030-31 to 2034-35, during which approximately 30,900 kilometers of roads will be constructed. The scheme will be funded by the state government. The Madhya Pradesh Rural Road Development Authority's empowered committee has been authorized to take decisions related to the scheme.
According to the approval, areas with a minimum of 20 houses and a population exceeding 100, covering more than 6,000 square meters, which do not have all-weather roads within 50 meters, will be considered settlements. A priority list will be prepared assembly constituency-wise based on the decreasing population of these settlements. The Collector can modify the priority list based on local needs such as security, health, education, in consultation with MPs, regional MLAs, and district panchayat members. The final priority list will be published at the state level. Under this scheme, nearly 20,600 settlements will be connected to main roads by constructing approximately 30,900 kilometers of roads.
