Amelia Kerr Wins ICC Women’s Cricketer of the Year and Rachel Heyhoe Flint Trophy

New Zealand’s star all-rounder Amelia Kerr has made history by becoming the first New Zealand cricketer to win the prestigious Rachel Heyhoe Flint Trophy. Amelia was awarded the ICC Women’s Cricketer of the Year 2024. At 24, she defeated star players such as Laura Wolvaardt, Chamari Athapaththu, and Annabel Sutherland to achieve this remarkable feat.

The Rachel Heyhoe Flint Trophy was first introduced in 2017, and since then, it has been shared by three players: Australia’s Ellyse Perry, India’s Smriti Mandhana, and England’s Nat Sciver-Brunt, each winning it twice. This year, Amelia Kerr not only became the first New Zealand cricketer to win the Rachel Heyhoe Flint Trophy but also the first Kiwi player to win the ICC Women’s Cricketer of the Year award in any format.
