Ambaji Temple Awarded 'Eat Right Prasadam' Certificate
The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has awarded the 'Eat Right Prasadam' certificate to the Ambaji Temple Trust for its hygienic and high-quality Mohanthal prasadam served to devotees. The state government has praised this achievement, attributing it to the quality, cleanliness, and disciplined operation of the temple trust. It was stated that the success was achieved under the guidance and leadership of Shri Arasuri Ambaji Mata Devasthan Trust and Additional Collector Kaushik Modi.
In 2023, Mohanthal prasadam, made of gram flour, ghee, and sugar, became controversial, leading to its replacement by Chikki, as it had a longer shelf life and allegedly faced reports of adulteration. The Food and Drug Control Administration (FDCA) even seized ghee from the firm contracted to prepare the prasadam. The 'Eat Right Prasadam' certificate is awarded to religious sites that adhere to strict standards of food safety, hygiene, and quality when preparing and distributing prasadam to devotees.
