Efforts are continuously being made in Madhya Pradesh to increase investment and jobs in new business and industry sectors. The state is preparing to launch local units of global companies, i.e., Global Capability Centers (GCCs). In this regard, the draft of the December policy will soon be implemented. The state plans to generate employment for 37,000 youth through 50 global capability centers in the coming years.

Global companies like Amazon, Microsoft, and Walmart establish GCCs to reduce costs and utilize skilled youth. These centers provide services such as R&D, IT services, BPO, and engineering. Madhya Pradesh is also working on a GCC policy, with the draft already issued and the final policy expected soon.

The establishment of GCCs will boost investments and global connectivity. This will promote IT and IT-enabled services in the state. Foreign investments will increase, creating more job opportunities, while local companies will connect with global firms. The demand for skilled youth and the need for technical education and training will also grow. Key sectors such as automobiles, GIS, mining, pharma, renewable energy, and textiles will be the focus of these centers.

India is becoming the preferred destination for global companies, replacing China. India holds 50% of the $46 billion GCC market. In 2023, the country had 1,600 GCCs, and this number is expected to reach 2,400 by 2030. Until now, most of these centers were in cities like Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Pune, and Chennai. Madhya Pradesh already has 5 Special Economic Zones, 15 IT parks, and more than 150 electronic system design manufacturing units, which can provide significant opportunities for investment and employment. According to the draft policy, Madhya Pradesh can soon generate 37,000 jobs in sectors like IT, textiles, and GIS.
