India rejected the new climate funding package of 300 billion US dollars for the 'Global South' at the United Nations Climate Conference (COP-29) on 24 November. It said that this package is too less. India was not given a chance to present its views before the agreement was approved. At the United Nations Climate Talks in Azerbaijan, a finance agreement of 300 billion US dollars for the 'Global South' to deal with climate change was approved. Under this, only 300 billion US dollars will be funded every year till 2035. The countries of the Global South have been demanding 1.3 trillion US dollars for three years.
