A Guide to MPPSC Aptitude Test
Aptitude Test is the Paper-II of the Madhya Pradesh State Services Prelims Exam.  The Paper-I is a General Studies paper including questions on history, geography, polity, etc.

Following the changes made to the Civil Services Exam by the UPSC, the Aptitude Test is made only qualifying in nature by the MPPSC. As a result, the marks scored in the Aptitude Paper aren’t counted while preparing the final merit list for the Prelims Exam.

A candidate only needs to score 33 percent marks to qualify the two-hour-long paper which has 100 questions carrying 200 marks in total.

The Aptitude Paper includes questions from the following sections-

Comprehension
Interpersonal skill including communication skill
Logical reasoning and analytical ability
Decision making and problem-solving
General mental ability
Basic numeracy (i.e. numbers and their relations, the order of magnitude, etc.
Data interpretation (i.e. charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency, etc.

While the paper is only of qualifying nature, yet one cannot neglect the preparation for the Aptitude Test as without qualifying this paper it all goes into vain.

Here are some tips and strategies to prepare for the MPPSC Aptitude Test.

Practice solving previous year question papers to get a flavor of the kinds of questions asked in the exam.
Just a week or fortnight before the Prelims, devote an hour regularly to prepare.
Shortlist what you need to study section-wise.
Get a good aptitude book that covers all or most of the sections along with providing practice questions.
Concentrate more on the sections which are your weaknesses. For instance, Hindi medium students are weak in English and vice-versa.
Make a note of formulas and stick them in a frequently visited corner of your study room.
Take mock tests and make time for at least one round of revision.
Prepare well and good luck for your exams.
