Narendra Modi took oath as Prime Minister for the third consecutive time on 9 June. President Draupadi Murmu administered him the oath of office and secrecy. A total of 71 MPs from different parties of NDA, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, took oath as ministers. Out of these, 30 were sworn in as cabinet ministers, 36 as ministers of state and 5 MPs as ministers of independent charge. Many faces from Madhya Pradesh were included among those who took oath for the third term of the Modi government.
Five MPs from Madhya Pradesh quota have been made ministers. Out of these, 3 have been made cabinet ministers and 2 have been made ministers of state. Former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, Jyotiraditya Scindia, Virendra Khatik, Durgadas Uike, Savitri Thakur from MP have got a place in Modi's new government. An attempt has also been made to balance the caste equations in this.
Shivraj Singh Chauhan took oath as a Union Minister for the first time. Won the Vidisha Lok Sabha seat of the state by a record margin of 8.21 lakh votes. Former Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan, popularly known as 'Mamaji', has been liked not only by his friends but also by his opponents due to his humble and friendly nature.
Jyotiraditya Scindia has again got a place in the Modi government. He took oath as a Union Cabinet Minister. He contested the election from Guna Lok Sabha seat on a BJP ticket and won with a huge margin.
Virendra Khatik from Madhya Pradesh quota has also got a place in the Modi cabinet. He took oath as a Union Cabinet Minister. He won from Tikamgarh Lok Sabha seat.
Durgadas Uikey has taken oath as a Minister of State in the cabinet of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He was elected MP for the second time from Betul Lok Sabha seat of Madhya Pradesh.
Savitri Thakur from Madhya Pradesh quota took oath as a Minister of State in the cabinet of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Savitri defeated Congress candidate Radheshyam Muval from Dhar Lok Sabha seat by 2 lakh 18 thousand 665 votes.
