Union Environment Minister Shri Bhupender Yadav and Chief Minister of Rajasthan Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma presented the Clean Air Survey Awards, 2024. The nine best performing NCAP cities were awarded on the occasion of International Clean Air Neel Gagan Diwas. It is also celebrated as Clean Air Day. A green earth is essential for blue skies and the Modi Government is working to make our air clean by reducing pollution of the earth through schemes and campaigns like Vehicle Scrappage Policy, Kachra Se Kanchan, Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam. 07 crore saplings have been planted in Rajasthan and appreciated the enthusiastic work done by all departments for this achievement. An engaging video was screened showing the essence of the NCAP program, the contribution of the agencies involved and the improvement in air quality in 131 NCAP cities. It was informed that focused action, convergence of resources and effective monitoring have shown positive results with a declining trend in air pollution in 95 cities. 51 cities have shown more than 20 per cent reduction in PM10 levels with respect to the base year 2017-18 and 21 of these cities have achieved more than 40 per cent reduction.
