बिहार राज्य सरकार की गजट अधिसूचना के अनुसार राज्यपाल ने आरक्षण विधेयकों पर 18 नवंबर को हस्ताक्षर किया। उसकी प्रति 21 नवंबर को राज्य सरकार को मिली। नई व्यवस्था में 75 प्रतिशत आरक्षण का प्रविधान है। यानी पहले से जारी आरक्षण में 15 प्रतिशत की वृद्धि हुई है। इनमें से 13 प्रतिशत पिछड़े एवं अति पिछड़े के कोटा में जुड़ा। दो प्रतिशत की बढ़ोत्तरी आर्थिक रूप से कमजोर वर्ग के लिए 10 और अन्य वर्गों के लिए 50 प्रतिशत आरक्षण पहले से दिया जा रहा था। अनुसूचित जातियों-एवं जनजातियों को संख्या के अनुसार आरक्षण का प्रविधान है।

According to the gazette notification of the Bihar state government, the Governor signed the reservation bills on November 18. Its copy was received by the state government on 21 November. There is a provision for 75 percent reservation in the new system. That means there has been an increase of 15 percent in the already issued reservation. Of these, 13 percent was included in the backward and extremely backward quota. An increase of two percent, 10 percent reservation was already being given for economically weaker sections and 50 percent for other sections. There is a provision for reservation for Scheduled Castes and Tribes according to their numbers.
