President Draupadi Murmu has appointed senior Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva of Madhya Pradesh High Court as the new acting Justice of the High Court. He will take over from Justice Sheel Nagu. Earlier, Justice Sheel Nagu was appointed as the Acting Chief Justice of Madhya Pradesh High Court. He replaced the then Chief Justice Ravi Malimath on 24 May. According to the notification issued by the Law and Justice Department of the Central Government, Justice Sheel Nagu has been appointed as the Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court, while Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva will take over as the Acting Chief Justice of Madhya Pradesh High Court in his place.
Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva graduated in Commerce in 1985 and then did LLB in Law from Delhi University in 1988. After this, he practiced in the District Court, High Court and Supreme Court of Delhi. In April 2013, he was appointed as an additional judge in the Delhi High Court and was promoted as a permanent judge in March 2015. On May 31, 2024, he took oath as a judge in the MP High Court.
