Life events of Devi Ahilyabai Holkar will be included in the curriculum of MP: Chief Minister Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said on Friday that the state government will make the life events of Devi Ahilyabai Holkar, the ruler of the former Holkar dynasty of Indore, a part of the curriculum of schools and colleges to reach the common people.
Yadav said at the inauguration program of 'Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar Tricentenary Celebrations' in Indore, "The state government will publish books on the basis of historical documents to reach the different events of Devi Ahilyabai Holkar's life to the common people. These books will be made part of the curriculum of schools and colleges." The Chief Minister said this while supporting a suggestion of former Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan. He, however, clarified that since the model code of conduct for the Lok Sabha elections is still in force, he is not making any formal announcement. Yadav mentioned the construction work done by Devi Ahilyabai Holkar in the four holy Dhams of Hindus and 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva and said that Devi Ahilyabai, who took charge of the Holkars' governance, left symbols of her good governance across the country. Before the Chief Minister's address, Mahajan said in the program that historical documents written in Modi script used during the reign of the Holkar dynasty should be saved in digital form and translated into popular languages. Classical dancer and Rajya Sabha member Dr. Sonal Mansingh said in the program that a big place, garden, meeting place or road should be named after Devi Ahilyabai Holkar in the country's capital Delhi. He said, "The names of Babar, Akbar and Shahjahan should be removed from the names of roads in Delhi and places should be named after great Indian women like Devi Ahilyabai Holkar." Nivedita Bhide, associated with Vivekananda Kendra, Kanyakumari, also addressed the program.
