₹3000 Annual FASTag Pass: Private Vehicles Can Cross Toll 200 Times Nationwide

FASTag is a type of tag or sticker that is placed on the vehicle's windscreen. It works on Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology.

The Indian government has announced a new annual FASTag pass option priced at ₹3000. This new option will be available starting from August 15. Until now, only monthly passes or recharges based on usage were offered.

This pass is specifically for private vehicles such as cars, jeeps, and vans. It will be valid for either one year or for crossing up to 200 toll plazas across the country — whichever comes first. Effectively, each toll crossing will cost approximately ₹15.

The government claims this initiative will help reduce congestion at toll booths on national highways throughout India.
