Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has congratulated and wished the Omkareshwar Solar Floating Project on the auspicious festival of Diwali for starting work at full capacity. He said that it is a matter of pride for the state that the Omkareshwar Solar Floating Project is not only the country's but the world's largest solar floating project. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the nation is constantly touching heights in the field of renewable energy. Madhya Pradesh is also working with full commitment to fulfill Prime Minister Shri Modi's dream of taking the country's renewable energy capacity to 500 GW by the year 2030.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the Omkareshwar Solar Floating Project has started generating electricity at its full capacity of 278 MW in the first phase from October 30, 2024. The launch of Omkareshwar Solar Floating Project built on holy river Maa Narmada on the auspicious festival of Deepawali is a matter of happiness and pride for the people of the state. This is also an excellent opportunity for the government's continuous efforts and resolution for energy self-reliance and green energy production of the state to be fulfilled. Today, renewable energy projects of about 6,600 MW capacity have been established in the state. Work is going on on registered renewable energy projects of about 8,900 MW. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that we are also moving towards the goal of Prime Minister Shri Modi to meet 50 percent of energy needs from renewable energy.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that continuous efforts are being made to promote renewable energy in the state. He said that Prime Minister Shri Modi has put forward the basic mantra to deal with the challenges of climate change in the form of Panchamrit on the world stage. We will leave no stone unturned in achieving the target given by the Prime Minister in the field of renewable energy. We will work with full commitment so that the state can become a role model in the field of renewable energy not only in the country but also in the world. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that we will continue to work to keep the state a "bright state" "golden state" by adopting such innovations in the future too. New and Renewable Energy Minister Shri Rakesh Shukla has congratulated the people of the state for the achievement of starting power generation with full capacity in the first phase of Omkareshwar Solar Project. He has assured that under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, we will continue to work with full commitment to increase our capacity in this field. He has congratulated and wished the departmental officers-employees and project developers.
