The Indore bench of Madhya Pradesh High Court has ordered that the benefit of 20 percent pension hike should be given to the retired employee as soon as he enters 80th year of age. The state government had issued a notification in 2009 regarding 20 percent pension hike on entering 80th year. The retired employee from Indore Municipal Corporation has completed 79 years of age last year and has entered 80th year. He had applied to the Municipal Commissioner and requested for 20 percent pension hike citing his eligibility for pension hike, but he was not given the benefit of pension hike. On this, he filed a petition in the High Court. Now within 30 days, orders have been given to give the benefit of the said pension hike to the petitioner as soon as he enters 80th year. Interest will also have to be paid on this amount.
