Madhya Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Jagdish Devda presented the state budget for the financial year 2024-25. The size of Madhya Pradesh's budget has reached its highest level till date and is at a height of three lakh 65 thousand 67 crore rupees with an increase of 16 percent compared to last year. The special thing about the new budget is that it is a budget of revenue surplus of Rs 1700 crore and the fiscal deficit is estimated at 4.11 percent. Another special thing is that in this budget, the capital expenditure has been increased by 15 percent compared to last year and the total capital expenditure is 4.25 percent of the state's gross domestic product (SGDP). With this, new chapters of development and employment will be seen being created. The budget has allocated more funds for infrastructure with Narmada and Vindhya Expressways, Atal Progressway and Malwa Nirman Vikas Path. Along with this, the scope of capital expenditure has also been increased. There are budget provisions for metro in Indore-Bhopal.
The size of fiscal deficit in the regional budget for the financial year 2024-25 is seen at 4.11 percent, which was 4.02 percent in the last financial year 2023-24.
While the state budget for the financial year 2024-25 will show the state's economy moving forward, the new budget will bring a smile of socio-economic development on the faces of various sections of the state.
