29 October: Free treatment of Rs. 5 lakhs for senior citizens of 70+ years of age started.

Now, all people of 70 years of age and above will get the benefit of Ayushman Bharat Yojana. Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched it on 29 October. Under this scheme, treatment up to Rs. 5 lakhs can be availed free of cost every year. Whereas, in the six months between April and September, India has exported 'Made in India' iPhones worth 6 billion dollars (about Rs. 50,454 crores). This is one-third (33%) more than the same period last year. Free treatment in government-private hospitals, 6 crore people benefited Now, all people of 70 years of age and above will get the benefit of Ayushman Bharat Yojana. Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched it on 29 October. Under this scheme, treatment up to Rs. 5 lakhs can be availed free of cost every year. There will be no condition for free treatment in this scheme. No senior citizen will be excluded from the purview of this scheme on the basis of income, pension, bank balance, land or chronic diseases. Around 6 crore people above 70 years of age in the country will benefit from this.
