10 Teams to Participate in the 2029 Women's ODI World Cup
The 2029 ICC Women's ODI World Cup will feature 10 participating teams. The announcement comes after the remarkable success of the 2025 Women's World Cup held in India, which broke multiple viewership records.
The final match of the 2025 tournament, played at DY Patil Stadium, Navi Mumbai, saw India defeat South Africa to claim their first-ever Women's World Cup title. This victory marked a historic moment for Indian women’s cricket.
According to the International Cricket Council (ICC), the match garnered 185 million views on JioHotstar, matching the record set by the 2024 Men's T20 World Cup Final. Additionally, 92 million viewers watched the final on satellite television — equal to the combined TV viewership of both the 2024 Men’s T20 World Cup and the 2023 Men’s ODI World Cup finals.
The overall digital reach in India for the tournament hit 446 million — the highest ever in the history of women’s cricket. This figure even surpassed the combined digital audience of the previous three editions of the Women's World Cup.
