16 फरवरी को नीति आयोग ने भारत में नागरिकों की देखभाल में सुधार करना, वरिष्ठ नागरिक देखभाल प्रतिमान की पुरर्कल्पना शीर्षक से एक स्थिति पत्र जारी किया।
इस अवसर पर बोलते हुए, नीति आयोग के उपाध्यक्ष सुमन बेरी ने कहा, “इस रिपोर्ट का जारी होना विकसित भारत @2047 के लक्ष्य को प्राप्त करने की भारत की प्रतिबद्धता की दिशा में उठाया गया एक कदम है। वरिष्ठ नागरिक देखभाल के लिए प्रौद्योगिकी और आर्टिफिशियल इंटेलिजेंस के अनुप्रयोग को व्यापक रूप से प्राथमिकता देना महत्वपूर्ण है। अब चिकित्सा और सामाजिक आयामों के अलावा वरिष्ठ नागरिक देखभाल के विशेष आयामों के बारे में सोचना शुरू करने का समय आ गया है।
इस स्थिति पत्र में की गई सिफारिशें सशक्तिकरण, सेवा वितरण और चार मुख्य क्षेत्र - स्वास्थ्य, सामाजिक, आर्थिक/वित्तीय और डिजिटल के तहत उनके समावेशन के संदर्भ में आवश्यक विशिष्ट हस्तक्षेपों को वर्गीकृत करती हैं। यह वरिष्ठ नागरिकों की बढ़ती चिकित्सा और गैर-चिकित्सा आवश्यकताओं को पहचानकर वरिष्ठ नागरिक देखभाल की सीमाओं को आगे बढ़ाने का प्रयास करता है, इस प्रकार यह एक प्रभावी और समन्वित वरिष्ठ देखभाल नीति को तैयार करने के लिए एक बहु-आयामी रणनीति की कल्पना करता है।
Speaking on the occasion, Suman Beri, Vice Chairman, NITI Aayog said, “The release of this report is a step towards India's commitment to achieving the goal of Developed India @2047. It is important to comprehensively prioritize the application of technology and Artificial Intelligence for senior citizen care. Now is the time to start thinking about the special dimensions of senior citizen care apart from the medical and social dimensions.
The recommendations made in this position paper categorize the specific interventions required in terms of empowerment, service delivery and their inclusion under four core areas – health, social, economic/financial and digital. It strives to push the boundaries of senior citizen care by recognizing the growing medical and non-medical needs of senior citizens, thus it envisions a multi-pronged strategy to formulate an effective and coordinated senior care policy .
