Central Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has announced that 14 lakh PM Awas (affordable houses) will be constructed in Madhya Pradesh within the next year. The state government will be provided with 30,672 crore rupees for this project. During the event, PM Awas, development works, and the pledge of One Nation, One Election were discussed.

Housing for the Poor - Housing Plus Initiative

The Housing Plus scheme has been launched to provide housing to the homeless people of the state. The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Dr. Mohan Yadav, and State Panchayat Minister Prahlad Patel were also present at the event in Vidisha on January 15, where the PM Awas program was announced.

Shivraj Singh Chauhan also highlighted that 3 lakh 12 thousand crore rupees have been allocated for creating lakhpati didis, while 5 thousand 628 crore rupees will be given for MGNREGA (Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act), and 267 crore rupees will be allocated for PM rural roads. Additionally, 500 crore rupees will be given for PM roads.

One Nation, One Election

In his speech, Shivraj Singh Chauhan also pledged for "One Nation, One Election." He emphasized that holding elections continuously wastes both time and money and that all elections should be conducted together to save resources.

Vidisha to Become a Municipal Corporation

In response to Shivraj Singh Chauhan's request, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav announced that Vidisha will be upgraded to a Municipal Corporation. The surrounding villages will be integrated to improve the city's development. The next election in Vidisha will be for the post of Municipal Corporation Mayor.

Dr. Yadav also mentioned that Vidisha is included in the Capital-Wide Project, and a master plan for the city will soon be developed. Several other initiatives such as upgrading the district hospital to a medical college, promoting irrigation through small irrigation projects, constructing the Janaki Kund, and developing the Betwa tourism corridor were also discussed.

Development Works and Handover of Houses

During the event, the ministers inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for development works worth 177 crore rupees. They also handed over keys to 5 new beneficiaries of the PM Awas scheme and issued approval letters to 5 other beneficiaries.
