The radical Islamic organization Hizb-ut-Tahrir (HuT) has been declared a terrorist organization by the Government of India. The Union Home Ministry issued a notification for this. This organization was also active in Madhya Pradesh, especially Bhopal. In May last year, 16 members of this organization were arrested by the Madhya Pradesh Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS). This organization also had connections with ISIS. Apart from this, it is also accused of conspiring to implement Sharia law in the country. Recently this organization hijacked the movement of student organizations in Bangladesh. Documents, literature, technical equipment and radical material related to terrorist activities were recovered from them. A case was registered against the accused under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).
