Chandrababu Naidu took oath as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. This is Naidu's fourth term as CM. During this, many big leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Health Minister JP Nadda were present. In the Naidu government, 20 ministers from TDP, two from Janasena and one from BJP were sworn in as ministers. Actor-turned-politician Pawan Kalyan took oath after Naidu. He will also be the Deputy Chief Minister of the state. Earlier, TDP and NDA had elected Naidu as their legislature party leader.
After being elected as the leader of the legislature party, the leaders of TDP, BJP, Janasena alliance met Governor S Abdul Nazir in Vijayawada and staked claim to form the government. Many more leaders can also take oath as ministers along with Naidu.
Naidu announced a day before the swearing-in that Amaravati will be the only capital of the state. During the NDA Legislature Party meeting, he also said that he has sought support from the Central Government for the southern state and has also received assurance for the same.
In the assembly elections held in Andhra Pradesh, the Telugu Desam Party led by Chandrababu Naidu became the largest party by winning 135 out of 175 seats in the state. Pawan Kalyan's Janasena Party has won 21 seats in the election and BJP has also won eight seats. Jaganmohan Reddy's party YSRCP has been reduced to just 11 seats. In the Andhra Pradesh assembly elections, TDP, Janasena and BJP had contested the elections by forming an alliance.
