10.91 Lakh Railway Employees to Receive 78 Days Productivity Bonus
The Union Cabinet on 24th September made six major decisions, including approving a total allocation of ₹94,916 crore.
Among the key decisions, a bonus of ₹1865.68 crore has been approved for over 10.91 lakh non-gazetted railway employees in the form of a 78-day productivity-linked bonus (PLB). Additionally, ₹2192 crore has been sanctioned for the Bakhtiyarpur–Rajgir–Tilaiya railway line.
The PLB is usually paid before the Durga Puja/Dussehra holidays each year, and 2025 is no exception. Eligible railway employees will receive an amount equal to 78 days’ salary as a bonus.
This bonus acts as an incentive to motivate employees towards improving the performance of Indian Railways. The maximum payable PLB amount per employee is ₹17,951.

The PLB will be disbursed to various categories of Group 'C' railway employees, including:
- Track Maintainers
- Loco Pilots
- Train Managers (Guards)
- Station Masters
- Supervisors
- Technicians
- Technician Helpers
- Pointsmen
- Ministerial Staff
- Other Group 'C' Employees
