Chief Minister to Hold First Meeting on 14th
Indore Set to Become India's First Digital Address City
Indore is all set to become the first city in India with a digital address system. A pilot project in one of the city's wards has been successful, and now the city plans to extend it to wards 71, 79, and 83. Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava has said that Indore, known for its cleanliness, will now become a model for the nation in digital address management.
The digital address system aims to provide each household with a unique digital address plate that includes a QR code. Scanning the QR code will instantly display the address, ownership details, and verification status of the property. The data will remain secure and can be accessed easily by citizens. The project will also help identify duplicate records and missing properties in municipal records.
Pilot Project and Expansion
The initiative began in Ward 82 (Sudama Nagar) and was a huge success. Now, work is set to begin in three other wards (71, 79, and 83). In Ward 82 alone, 7,185 properties were registered, including 5,582 residential and 348 commercial properties. Additionally, 45 properties were identified that were missing from the municipal records. The digital address system will also allow citizens to get updates on their property taxes and water bills.
What This Means for Citizens
The unique digital address will make it easier for citizens to access government services, verify their property details, and stay informed about civic issues. The project will be funded through CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) funds, ensuring that there is no financial burden on the residents of the city.
Mayor's Statement
Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava emphasized, "Indore has already set a benchmark for cleanliness in the country. Now, we will lead the nation in digital address management and become a model for others to follow. Once the project is completed, Indore will be known as India's first Digital Address City."
