Gede Priyandana Takes 5 Wickets in One Over in T20 International

Indonesian fast bowler Gede Priyandana created history in T20 International cricket by taking 5 wickets in a single over against Cambodia. At 28 years old, Priyandana became the first bowler in men's or women's T20I cricket to achieve this feat.

Priyandana achieved this remarkable record in his very first over of the match. The game between Indonesia and Cambodia was closely contested. Cambodia required 62 runs in the final 5 overs with 5 wickets remaining. Indonesia's captain handed the ball to Priyandana, who then dismantled Cambodia's batting lineup.

Priyandana took a hat-trick by dismissing Shah Abrar Hussain, Nirmaljit Singh, and Chanthiyon Ratnak in the first three balls. After a dot ball, he dismissed Mongdara Sok. Then, following a wide ball, he took the wicket of Pel Wenak to secure a stunning victory for Indonesia. Cambodia was bowled out for 107, and Indonesia won the match by 60 runs.

In T20 cricket history, Gede Priyandana is the third bowler to take 5 wickets in a single over. Previously, Amin Hussain achieved this feat in the Victory Day T20 Cup 2013-14 playing for UCB-BCB against Abahani Limited, and Abhimanyu Mithun did it in the 2019-20 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy for Karnataka against Haryana.
