Anish Dayal Singh Appointed as Deputy NSA of India

Anish Dayal Singh, former Director General of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), has been appointed as the new Deputy National Security Advisor (NSA) of India.

He has been given the charge of overseeing internal security affairs. Singh, an IPS officer of the 1988 batch from the Manipur cadre, retired in December 2024.

Before heading CRPF and ITBP, he served for nearly 30 years in the Intelligence Bureau (IB). His long experience in internal security makes him a crucial addition to the National Security Council Secretariat.

According to news agency PTI, his appointment is seen as a strategic step in strengthening India's internal security mechanisms.
